THE LONG MARCH
We have dedicated the cover of this Newsletter n. 14 to the team of the Camillian Task Force (CTF) which is working in the emergency provoked by the earthquake in Nepal which took place on 25 April 2015. This is a group made up of some of our Camillian religious brothers of the Vice-Province of India, of women religious of various Congregations and of lay people who with the strength of their faith and their medical-health-care skills set out on a march – a long march – towards the remotest areas of the country, those places that other humanitarian organisations have not yet reached.
This long march evokes in a historical sense the gigantic military retreat undertaken by the Chinese Red Army led by Mao Zedong in 1934 following its ‘fifth encirclement’ by the troops of the Kuomintang commanded by Chiang Kai-shek. This army took 370 days (from October 1934 to October 1935) to go from Jiangxi to Shaanxi and to march 12,000 kilometres along dry uplands, mountains without roads, snow-clad summits and imposing rivers such as the Chang Jiang. All this was done while they continued to fight to open up a road for themselves.
Our friends of the CTF have also marched on foot in a real sense given that the earthquake swept away the already precarious communication routes of the country, helping each other, sharing hardships and fears, to achieve another kind of revolution: the globalisation of solidarity, of mercy and of charity.

SIERRA LEONE – BROTHERS OF EBOLA

The support work for the victims of Ebola in Sierra Leone continues. Although the level of infection by Ebola seems to be diminishing and thus actions of a health-care character are also decreasing, there is instead an increase in the number of meetings to provide psychological support for over four hundred families who were selected for the project of emotional and humanitarian support (capacity to develop resilience amidst tensions and difficulties).

An appeal was also launched for the cooperation of all men and women Superior Generals through the confederated organs of Rome. ROME –DAUGHTERS OF ST. CAMILLUS
In the dialogue between the present and the past, Camillus opens a window onto a wonderful panorama: his incredible discovery of the sick, a discovery that sprang from his encounter with the phrase of the Gospel which says: ‘Whenever you did this for one of the least important of these members of my family, you did it for me!’ (Mt 25:40).
On 20 June 2015 there will another performance of this musical at the prestigious Theatre Argentina of Rome within the context of the 2015 edition of the Good Samaritan Prize, an award for excellence in the health-care and volunteer world.

THE YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE
‘A love that is not resigned in order to dwell in new horizons. The languages, style, and ecclesial project of Pope Francis” (Bruno Secondin ocarm.) Download the text here Italian/English
These are the two evocative papers that Fr. Bruno Secondin ocarm. and Fr. Bruno Cadoré op. offered to the Superior Generals at their recent bi-annual meeting in Rome (27-29 May 2015).
They can also be useful to us, for our meditations, in the context of the year that Pope Francis has dedicated to consecrated life.
BUCCHIANICO
His spiritual teacher was the saint of Lisieux, the little Teresa, who outlined for him a journey of simple and joyous simplicity, a journey that Nicolino followed with enthusiasm, provoking the admiration of his superiors and religious brothers: ‘Everything here is done for Jesus, for his love. Nobody asks of me exceptional things, like sleeping on the ground or fasting. I only do what I have to do – for love – like St. Teresina, who did not do anything special; at the age of twenty-four she died of tuberculosis and became a saint’.
AGENDA OF THE SUPERIOR GENERAL
On 8-16 June he will visit our religious brothers of the Delegation of North America in Milwaukee.
On Wednesday 1 July, together with the General Consultors, Fr.
